Aquino explains why he’s not sending our armed troops to Sabah

By

DAVAO CITY, Philippines—”What do you want me to do?” an exasperated President Benigno Aquino III asked during a political rally here on Wednesday, explaining his administration’s actions on the Sabah situation.
Speaking at Team PNoy’s campaign held at the Rizal Park, Aquino lamented criticisms that he has been receiving for his alleged lack of actions to address the problem in Sabah.
“Hindi raw po ako maka-Filipino. Kulang raw ang ginagawa ko para sa kanila (They say I am not pro-Filipino, that what I am doing is not enough),” he said.
(It seems what they want for us to do is to deploy our entire armed forces and join them in their violent means, like pushing our countrymen into disaster.)”
(Do they want us to submit our 95 million Filipinos into such chaos?  Who has no consideration for our fellow Filipinos now?),” he said.
Aquino added he had always reminded and appealed to the sultan of Sulu and his followers in Sabah to return to the country and peacefully discuss the problem.

OP DAULAT : PENDUDUK TG LABIAN RAYU BEKALAN MAKANAN

TIME TO REVIEW 800,000 SULU FORGE CITIZENSHIP

By : CLEFTUS MOJINGOL
KOTA KINABALU : In regards to the current Tanduo stand-off, we Sabahans fully support any decisive military action against intruders into our beloved state of Sabah.
Though lives lost on either parties were much regretted, this showed that peace could only be an option when both parties agreed to the word peace. Commit crime and don't expect to be given sweets.
Those intruders must be caught sooner or later and be put to the full brunt of the laws of this country, otherwise people would laugh at Malaysian authorities.
In the very first place, the armed Sulu intruders would have avoided casualty on their part if they took up Malaysia's magnanimous but unpopular offer for them a peaceful return to their origin country. But they refused and in fact engaged our police in firefight.
Now we ask also Prime Minister Najib Razak to pursue a peaceful settlement with the Philippines on any lingering claim from the Philippines on Sabah. Sabah belong to Sabahans and no other may lay claim on this land.
Najib must also rethink about the whole 800,000 Filipinos given Malaysian identity cards in Sabah. This for the simple reason that Sulu sultan Jamalul Kiram who is in Manila was also claiming that these people are his people.

WHY SABAH MUST SUFFER?

THIS IS the opportunity for the people to stress that there was no Referendum on Malaysia in Sabah, Sarawak, Malaya and Brunei. Malaya must leave Sabah and Sarawak.
Needless to say the MNLF must leave Sabah too along with the illegal immigrants including those with MyKads.
The UN Security Council must get the above two things done upon pressure from the people. The so-called Sulu claim to Sabah is a fairy tale.
Sabah, the entire area being NCR under Adat, belongs to the Orang Asal.
Adat came first before the British North Borneo Chartered Company's self-serving so-called Agreements with the Brunei and Sulu sultans.
The Sovereignty of Sabah rests with its people. The Sulu sultanate is defunct and Sulu is part of the Philippines.
Najib should not have facilitated a peace process in the southern Philippines which excluded the MNLF (Nur Misuari).
It has  turned Sabah into a battleground between our security forces and the MNLF hiding behind the so-called heirs to the purported Sulu claim to Sabah or parts of it.
Best Regards,
JOE FERNANDEZ

Too late for apologies, Kiram clan tells Manila

Filipino Sultan of Sulu Jamalul Kiram III (2nd-R) prays with his family and supporters in Taguig, Metro Manila March 6, 2013. Jamalul said on ABS-CBN News Channel on Wednesday night that ‘the door of the Sultan is still open for negotiations’. – Reuters picKUALA LUMPUR, March 6 – The Kiram clan turned a cold shoulder today to reports that the Philippine government wants to apologise for losing the letter it wrote in 2010, pointing out that it was too late as many Filipinos have already died during the violent clashes in Sabah.
Fatima Celia, wife of the self-proclaimed Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III, said on ABN-CBS News Channel in the Philippines tonight that the government should instead apologise to the families left behind by the Sulu’s “royal security force”.
“Damage has been done, no? Lives have been lost,” she said during prime time news at 8pm.
Jamalul’s brother, Agbimuddin Kiram, had led a group of over 200 armed man from the Sulu “royal army” to Lahad Datu in Sabah on February 9, hoping to stake its claim over the northern Borneo territory.
But today, nearly a month after their surprise landing, the men have suffered casualties at the hands of Malaysia’s security forces, who are currently still undergoing ground operations to flush them out of the east Malaysian state.

Jamalul Kiram III bukan Sultan Sulu sebenar, kata kerabat diraja

Beliau menambah pihak berkuasa kini sedang mencari saki baki mayat pihak musuh.

13 Pinoys killed in Sabah assault

MANILA, Philippines - At least 13 armed supporters of the Sultanate of Sulu who are claiming Sabah were killed in an all-out assault launched by Malaysian security forces, Malaysia's defense chief said Wednesday.
Defense Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Malaysian troops found the bodies in mop-up operations Wednesday.
"The total is 13. There could be more," Zahid told reporters at a media center set up at a palm oil plantation called Felda Sahabat.
Photographs of 7 dead Filipinos, whom Malaysian officials tagged as "terrorists," were shown to media.
At least 40 people, including 8 Malaysian policemen, have been killed in the ongoing crisis in Sabah.
Zahid said no Malaysian security personnel was injured in the aerial bombardment and ground assault launched by Malaysian soldiers and police Tuesday.
State media agency Bernama, meanwhile, said Malaysian police arrested 4 men suspected of involvement in a clash in Simunul.
Bernama posted photos of the arrested men in its Twitter account.

DFA to verify mutilation of bodies in Sabah

MANILA - The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) insisted anew that its chief never called the Filipinos currently in conflict with Malaysian troops “terrorists”, noting that the report from counterparts there still needs to be validated.
In a press conference, spokesman Raul Hernandez said Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario agreed that the “mutilation” and “desecration” of the bodies of the police forces are terroristic acts.
Whether or not these indeed happened would still need validation, he said.
“We don’t have people in the area of conflict. We can’t send people there. The information we have gotten so far is from the Foreign Minister (of Malaysia). This has to be validated,” Hernandez said.
He said they will ask for a “full report” when the dust settles.
Malaysian troops launched fresh attacks against the followers of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III on Tuesday morning. They have not confirmed the number of deaths.
Malaysian reports earlier claimed that troops have “totally defeated” the army. Until now, however, they are still hunting for the Filipinos who supposedly dodged the ground and air assaults.

FVR to PNoy: Meet with Sultan Kiram to address Sabah conflict

Former President Fidel V. Ramos on Wednesday advised President Benigno Aquino III to personally meet with Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to help end the ongoing conflict in Sabah.

In a television interview, Ramos said Aquino should have a one-on-one talk with Kiram to hear out the sultan’s grievances.

“Kung may imbitasyon si Pangulong Aquino [from Kiram], e mag-usap na kayong dalawa nang masinsinan,” Ramos said.

Ramos, as president from 1992 to 1998, had pushed for a financial settlement between Malaysia and the sultan's heirs that would include development funds for communities in Sulu, according to a timeline constructed by Palace official Manuel Quezon.

Malaysia was eager for the arrangement, but no agreement was ever finalized, partly because of a failure to unite among the heirs, according to Amina Rasul, a descendant of an early sultan.

It is still not clear what the Aquino position is on the Sabah claim, with Palace spokespersons saying the Justice Department is still studying the matter.

Konflik Lahad Datu: Tuduh menuduh bukan penyelesaian

PETALING JAYA, 6 MAC: Pakatan Rakyat (PR) kesal kerana terus menjadi mangsa manipulasi isu pencerobohan Kesultanan Sulu di Lahad Datu dengan pelbagai spekulasi liar oleh media kawalan UMNO-Barisan Nasional (BN).
Pembantu Khas Dewan Undangan Negeri Bukit Gasing, Kasthuri Patto berkata, beliau kecewa apabila isu itu terus menuduh pemimpin PR walaupun sudah menyatakan hasrat untuk duduk bersama membincangkan penyelesaian konflik berdarah itu.
“Siapa kita untuk dituduh yang bukan-bukan? Kerajaan mahu isu ini tidak dipolitikkan tapi kenapa ia terus menjadi mainan politik mereka?

Malaysia pohon ekstradisi Jamalul Kiram jika ada bukti

Sabah diceroboh

mahkamah.

Beliau turut menasihatkan orang ramai supaya memberi ruang kepada polis menjalankan tugas mereka menyiasat kes itu.

"Jika terbukti ada kes, kami (Pejabat Peguam Negara) pasti akan melakukannya (memohon ekstradisi)," tegas Abdul Gani.

Beliau berkata demikian semasa diminta mengulas laporan media mengenai ekstradisi Jamalul Kiram yang didakwa mengarahkan pencerobohan bersenjata di Sabah, yang mengakibatkan lapan anggota polis terbunuh. - Bernama

Tentera SULU Menyamar Pakai Baju BN Di Tahan

Menteri: Penceroboh serang anggota CID, forensik

MILF does not want to get involved, says chairman

JOHOR BAHARU, March 6 – The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), the largest rebel group in the Philippines, is not involved in the confrontation between the Sulu gunmen linked to the so-called Sulu Sultanate and Malaysia’s security forces in eastern Sabah.
Its chairman, Al-Haj Murad Ebrahim, said the confrontation between armed followers of the ‘Sultan of Sulu’ and Malaysia’s security forces in Lahad Datu and Semporna was a matter for Kuala Lumpur and the Manila administration to solve.
“The problem there (confrontation between Sulu gunmen and Malaysia’s security forces) is between the Malaysian Government and the Philippines. We leave it to them to solve it.
“Our people are not involved in the intrusion. We don’t want to get involved in the matter, we don’t want to complicate it,” he said in an exclusive interview via telephone from his stronghold at Camp Darapanan in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao, southern Philippines today.
After three weeks of failed negotiations, Malaysia yesterday despatched fighter jets and ground troops in armoured personnel carriers to storm the seaside village of Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu, where the Sulu gunmen are holed up.

More Sulu gunmen killed in another shooting, says IGP

LAHAD DATU, March 6 – More Sulu militants have died in a gunfight with security forces here this afternoon, Tan Sri Ismail Omar said today, without specifying the number.
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) (picture) also said that the security forces were expanding their search operations from Kampung Tanduo to Kampung Tanjung Batu.
“At 4.15pm, there were shoot-outs at three locations in the (Tanjung Batu) village,” Ismail told reporters here today.
“We believe there were some enemies who fell, but we can’t verify the number at this time,” he added.
Armed Forces chief Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin, who was also at the press conference, clarified that only nine bodies of Filipino gunmen were found, out of the 13 Sulu casualties here.
He said that 12 were killed during last Friday’s shoot-out, while one was shot dead this morning.
He added that the authorities were searching for the remaining bodies.
Defence Minister Datuk Ahmad Zahid Hamidi confirmed earlier today that 13 Sulu gunmen were killed after yesterday’s air strikes against Kampung Tanduo, but pointed out that it was unknown how they died as forensic work has yet to be done.

Congress must check Executive's handling of Sabah crisis - Casino

MANILA, Philippines – The Sabah crisis has played out for nearly a month, but so far it’s only the voice of the Executive branch that has been heard on the matter. On Wednesday, party-list congressman Teddy Casino sought to correct this situation as he filed an urgent resolution asking Congress to look into the Executive's handling of the Sabah issue.
"Not only has President Aquino's actions antagonized the Sultanate of Sulu, resulting in a crisis; he has also undermined the country's claim on Sabah," said Casino, who is seeking a Senate seat.
Casino, representative of the party-list Bayan Muna, filed House Resolution 3042 seeking the "investigation on the ongoing armed conflict between Malaysia and the Filipino Muslims led by the Sultanate of Sulu and the propriety of the position taken by President Benigno Aquino III in supporting Malaysia and thereby undermining the Philippine claim on Sabah."
Casino observed that, "by calling for the surrender of Kiram's group, without conditions and echoing and justifying Malaysia's militarist solution to the dispute, Aquino has basically dropped the country's legitimate claim on Sabah. Surely, Congress and other bodies must do something to correct this," Casino said.
Casino stressed the need for the Philippine government to call for the cessation of hostilities and the peaceful settlement of the Sabah dispute.

FOUND: Sultan's wife shows copy of 2010 letter to PNoy 'lost in maze'

Sultan Jamalul Kiram III's wife Fatima Celia shows the copy of the letter her husband sent to President Aquino in July 2010. BERNARD TESTA, INTERAKSYON.COM
MANILA, Philippines – The contents of the letter that Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III sent to President Benigno Aquino III just weeks after his inauguration in 2010, and which Aquino admitted got "lost in the bureaucratic maze," was revealed by the sultanate on Wednesday, as the Philippine government drew fire both for its official neglect and for sounding more like Malaysia’s ally in the Sabah crisis.
In the letter, the sultan was offering to provide inputs on the long-drawn search for comprehensive peace in Muslim Mindanao, noting the sultanate’s relations with the two rebel groups MNLF and MILF. He was also seeking an audience with the President to talk about their claim to Sabah or North Borneo, which the sultanate leased to British merchants in 1878, but which the British government gave to Malaysia when its federation was created. The sultanate ceded its claim to the Philippine government so that it can stand a better chance of being pursued.

The claim, however, took the backseat through five presidencies after it was officially filed in 1963 by then President Diosdado Macapagal.
On Wednesday, hours after Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert del Rosario assumed responsibility for the loss of the letter---even though he was not yet the DFA secretary when it was lost---Kiram’s wife Fatima Celia showed reporters their receiving copy of the lost letter dated July 19, 2010, long before the new administration began peace talks with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
Their copy had the receiving bar code from the records section, dated October 15, 2012. Asked by reporters for a reaction on DFA's apology for the lost letter, Fatima Celia replied, “the damage has been done. There are already dead people. They could have prevented the bloodshed if only they had given importance to the letter.”  She was referring to the over 20 people who have died on both the Malaysian security forces’ side and the sultanate’s followers, since Malaysian commandos assaulted the Filipinos’  camp on Saturday morning, and the military launched air attacks on Tuesday.
Fatima Celia sighed, “Jolo was a paradise before. Asan na ang matuwid na daan?”

“Kita perlu ambil iktibar.

SABAH BUKAN MILIK KESULTANAN SULU

MALAYSIAN-TRAINED MNLF FIGHTERS JOIN TERRORIST

HIDDEN.... A MNLF leader claims that their forces have a huge arsenal hidden in Sabah's rugged terrain.
MANILA : Malaysian security forces are now facing battle-tested, Malaysian-trained commanders of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), who know Sabah like the palm of their hands.
Hadji Acmad Bayam, Former Chief Propagandist of the MNLF, revealed this yesterday to the Manila Bulletin, adding that these MNLF forces may have at their disposal a huge arsenal, which they hid deep in Sabah’s rugged terrain when they returned to the Philippines after their rigid training.
Among the firearms are Belgian-made G1 and FAL, which the late Libya leader Colonel Moammar Gadaffi supplied through Malaysia.
Bayam said he was confident the Malaysian authorities were not able to find the hidden MNLF firearms because they were kept very well by the MNLF commanders who stayed behind in Sabah.
During that training, Malaysian military trainers even joked about the firearms at the MNLF training camp on Jampiras Island, off Sabah, as they turned over Gadaffi’s weapons’ supply.

Kerajaan BN seperti lumpuh. Timbul persoalan kalangan rakyat mengapa penceroboh datang ketika dekat tarikh tarikh PRU13,” katanya pada program solat hajat keamanan di Kok Lanas malam tadi.

Pada program berkenaan diadakan solat hajat diketuai anggota jawatankuasa Dewan Ulama PAS Kelantan, Ustaz Nik Razi Nik Mat. (Gambar atas)

Pengkhianat Negara : Dalang ‘projek IC’ buka pintu negara diceroboh

Konflik Lahad Datu berlarutan tunjuk pemimpin BN lemah – Anwar

“Kenapa kerajaan perlu tunggu hingga 23 hari baru tindakan diambil. Mana kenyataan pemimpin? Kementerian Dalam Negeri, Menteri Pertahanan?

Aquino blames Sulu Sultanate for endangering Filipinos abroad

Aquino (centre) speaks at a news conference at the Malacanang presidential palace in Manila February 26, 2013. — Reuters picKUALA LUMPUR, March 6 ― Philippine President Benigno Aquino III today accused the Sulu Sultanate of putting fellow Filipinos at risk, turning the tables on the Kiram family as he moved to ward off criticism against his administration for being subservient to Malaysia.
The country’s 15th president said that Sulu “Sultan” Jamalul Kiram III’s insistence on leaving his armed band in Sabah’s Lahad Datu had led to a “propaganda war”, and forced the over-800,000 Filipinos living in the east Malaysian state into harm’s way.
Philippine media network ABN-CBS News reported Aquino as condemning the self-styled Sultan for the incursion, adding that the president had also appealed to Filipinos to support what is “right”.
Aquino, in making the appeal during a programme with the administration’s senatorial candidates in the Philippines, had reportedly also explained that when he had urged the Sultanate’s men to surrender and return home, he had done so with the welfare of the 800,000 Filipinos residing in Malaysia.
ABN-CBS also reported the president, who is also known as PNoy, as saying that the Sultan’s actions would affect the welfare of these Filipinos.

MANILA, Philippines -- Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III on Wednesday denied offering money to fighters of the Royal Sulu Army for them to join his brother in going to Sabah to press their claim to the territory.
Kiram said he did not have the funds to pay the more than 200 followers who went with Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram to Sabah early last month.
After a lengthy standoff with Malaysian security forces in Tanduo village in Lahad Datu, fighting erupted last Friday. And on Tuesday, Malaysian forces mounted a massive attack against the sultanate’s followers.
However, as of Wednesday, security officials in Sabah acknowledged that their forces continued to look for Agbimuddin’s group and had expanded the search area.
"Ang sultanate handang magpakamatay. Hindi nasusuhulan (The sultanate is ready to die and cannot be bought)," Kiram said, reacting to reports about the money offer.
"Karangalan lang ang tinatanggap nila (Honor is the only thing they get). Dignity and honor," the sultan said.
