Aquino ‘surrender’ order ‘not acceptable’ – Kirams

SOBERING NEWS Princess Jacel Kiram updates her father, Sultan of Sulu Jamalul Kiram III, on the bloodshed on Friday between Malaysian police and Kiram’s followers, who had refused to leave Sabah after their incursion on Feb. 9 to press their claim over what they call their homeland. GRIG C. MONTEGRANDE FILE PHOTO
MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III’s order to Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram’s men in Sabah to “surrender now with no conditions” is “not acceptable”.
“All they know how to say is surrender, surrender. Why should we surrender in our own home? They (his followers now in Sabah) are not doing anything bad in their own home),” the elder Kiram said in Filipino.
Kiram’s daughter, Jacel, said the President’s surrender order was “not acceptable.”
The aging and ailing sultan appeared briefly with action movie star Robin Padilla before dozens of journalists holed up in his home in Taguig City.
Jacel Kiram contradicted Cabinet Secretary Rene Almendras’ claim that Justice Secretary Leila de Lima was in “direct contact” with her family Friday night.
She said someone who claimed to represent the justice secretary had contacted them, demanding a “categorical statement” from the sultan ordering his followers to come home without any conditions.
She said previous emissaries tried to impose their terms on them.
“Dapat kasi negotiations, dapat hindi dinidikta [What’s needed is negotiation, not dictation],” she said.
“There was never any option, no option was given but to surrender,” she added.
Jacel also disputed Almendras’ claim that the government had done everything to peacefully resolve the standoff.
She said the standoff would continue until the three parties—the Sultanate and the Philippine and Malaysian governments—sit down to discuss the Sabah ownership issue.

IGP tells intruders: Surrender or face "DRASTIC MEASURES"

IGP tells intruders: Surrender or face "DRASTIC MEASURES"The authorities today warned the armed intruders claiming to be from the royal army of the Sulu sultanate to immediately lay down arms and surrender or face dire consequences.

Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein said the gunmen had no alternative following the gun battle yesterday in Kampung Tanduo, 130km from here, which resulted in the death of 12 of them and two police commandos.

He spoke to reporters at the Felda Sahabat 16 plantation, 130km from here, after arriving here today. He is expected to remain in Sabah until the matter of the intrusion is settled.

Soon after arriving at Felda Sahabat 16, Hishammuddin and inspector-general of police Ismail Omar were briefed by Sabah police chief Hamza Taib on the gun battle in Kampung Tanduo in Felda Sahabat 17.

In the incident, which occurred at about 10 am, 12 of the armed intruders and two police commandos were killed. Three police commandos were also injured.

It is believed that the bulk of the Sulu group is still holed up in Kampung Tanduo.

No other option left, says IGP

Kumpulan Bersenjata Masih Enggan Berundur, Harap Penyelesaian Aman – Jurucakap Sultan Sulu

Hishammuddin minta tentera Sulu letak jawatan?

Bersangka baik.... bersangka baik
ehee....

Peristiwa Lahad Datu, adakah sandiwara politik?

“Mereka bukan pengacau (jumlah undi).

Sabah police chief: Shooting unrelated to situation in Lahad Datu
LAHAD DATU: Two policemen were shot and injured during a shootout with gunmen at Simunul island at 7pm on Saturday.
Sabah police chief Datuk Hamzah Taib said late Saturday that a team of policeman had gone to the island in search of several personalities' following reports that they were in possession of firearms.

Hamzah said that follow-up operations are ongoing.
“For now, we believe it is unrelated to the situation in Lahad Datu,” he said.
He denied that any police station had been attacked.
The situation is tense in the east coast of Sabah after Malaysian security forces clashed with Sulu gunmen near Lahad Datu on Friday, leaving two police commandos and 12 gunmen dead.

IGP nafi 10 penceroboh serah diri

“We have decided to die in Lahad Datu’

LAHAD DATU: The Philippines government has re-iterated its call to followers of Sulu Sultan Jamalul Kiram III to surrender and prevent further bloodshed here.
The government has also said that a legal team would look into Kiram’s claim on Sabah.
Reading a statement from President Benigno Aquino, spokesman Edwin Lacierda, said  in Manila, that the path chosen by Kiram’s army  in Sabah was “wrong.”
“Our objective from the very start has been to avoid the loss of lives and the shed of blood. However, you did not join us in this objective.
“Because of the path that you (Kiram) chose, what we have been trying to avoid has come to pass, “ he told journalists
He was referring to the shootout between Malaysian security forces and Kiram soldiers here yesterday morning.
Kiram’s army, led by crown prince Raja Agbimuddin, have been holed up in Felda Sahabat in Lahad Datu since Feb 9 refusing to heed to Manila’s call for them to return peacefully to Philippines.

LAHAD DATU BACKFIRES: Najib is shaking, has he lost Sabah - Anwar

LAHAD DATU BACKFIRES: Najib is shaking, has he lost Sabah - AnwarFighting for his political survival, embattled Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak has unleashed a range of scenarios and media spin in an apparent bid to damage control the storm of negative publicity his alleged mishandling of an armed group of Filipino intruders on Malaysian soil had triggered.
But critics say Najib's 'over-usage' of the tools frequently employed by his strategists, including rounding groups linked to his Umno party to speak up for him while pouring the blame on arch rival Anwar Ibrahim, may result in his efforts failing to gain traction.
"Tanya sama Najib apa sebab goyang. Nanti jawab Najib Sabah akan hilang (Ask why is Najib shaking and Najib might answer it is because he has lost Sabah)," Anwar, the leader of the Malaysian Opposition, had said to the delight of a huge crowd in Ledang, Johor on Friday night, where he was doing a road-tour in preparation for the coming general election.
The 64-year-old Anwar, whom many Malaysians see as becoming the next prime minister, later told reporters following his Jelajah Merdeka Rakyat (Free the People) bus tour that the Lahad Datu incident was a serious security breach and that it would take time for the dust to settle on the shooting that has claimed 14 lives so far.
"At this stage, we want to extend our condolences to the families of those who died in the shootout. The matter is still ongoing and the implications are very serious, so we do not wish to politicize or comment further at this stage," said Anwar.
Security breach: What happened to the Scorpenes?

He had earlier issued a statement lambasting Najib's pussyfooting over the matter, which the Opposition suspects was hatched to hide ulterior motives aimed to help the ruling Umno-BN coalition retain political power in Sabah state.
"Why was our national borders so easily infiltrated by a band of armed foreigners, and pertinently why was the federal government so compromising in resolving the situation from the start?" said Anwar.
"National security cannot be taken lightly nor seen as low-priority. The people need to be informed fully about what actually happened in Lahad Datu for the last three weeks, including today’s exchanges."

Police airdrop leaflets, order surrender of armed intruders

LAHAD DATU, March 2 – The police today airdropped from a helicopter leaflets ordering the surrender of about 100 armed intruders holed up in a village in Sabah whose encounter with the police yesterday resulted in 14 people killed, two of them police commandos.
Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Hamza Taib said the leaflets carried the order in English and Suluk, reading: “Warning. Lay down your arms. Surrender. Surrender. Surrender.”
Hamza also said that the police were collaborating with the army to resolve the matter.
He advised the people not to speculate on the number of security forces’ personnel who were killed or injured in the gun battle yesterday, and said that no curfew had been imposed in the area.
“I have to make this clear because there have been announcements of a curfew in social websites and blogs. I am in charge of issuing the order for a curfew, but I have not issued any order following yesterday’s incident,” he said.
The armed intruders were cordoned off by the police on Feb 12 after they arrived there and laid claim to Sabah.
Twelve of them and two police commandos were killed in a gun battle yesterday after the intruders open fire when they stumbled upon the police in their attempt to move out of the area.
Hamza also said that a tactical approach was needed to remove the bodies of the dead intruders from the area.
Meanwhile, in LAHAD DATU, many business premises remained closed following the incident yesterday, with only a small number of shops and restaurants open for business.

Lahad Datu: Mana kelengkapan ketenteraan berbilion ringgit?

Lay down your arms. Surrender. Surrender. Surrender.' (Amaran. Letak senjata. Serah diri. Serah diri.

224 Kiram men 'intact', choose to die in Sabah

Posted at 03/02/2013 11:49 AM | Updated as of 03/02/2013 2:05 PM

No order to pullout forces due to Palace 'lies'
MANILA, Philippines -- The remaining 224 followers of the Sultanate of Sulu in Sabah have decided not to retreat and instead die in Lahad Datu town "in pursuit of their dreams and aspirations," the daughter of Sultan Jamalul Kiram III said on Saturday.
Reading the letter of Crown Prince Datu Raja Muda Agbimuddin Kiram, Princess Jaycel said the sultanate's followers decided not to leave Lahad Datu despite the shootout with Malaysian security forces Friday morning which claimed 10 lives from their group and injured four others.
Two Malaysian security personnel also died in the encounter, the police chief of the Malaysian state of Sabah said. Malaysian officials also claimed 12 armed Filipinos were killed in the incident.
"After we buried our nine brothers and one sister at sundown, everyone of the 224 left decided to die in Lahad Datu in pursuit of their dreams and aspirations...and have decided to put everything in the hands of Allah," Princess Jaycel said, reading Raja Muda's letter in a press conference Saturday morning.
Sultanate spokesman Abraham Idjirani, likewise, said: "Intact sila, the remaining 224."
The sultanate's followers, led by Sultan Kiram's brother Raja Muda, have been holed up in Lahad Datu town since February 12 in an effort to strengthen their claim to the Malaysian territory.
Idjirani earlier said the standoff between their group and Malaysian forces in Sabah is not yet over, refuting earlier statements made by the Malaysian and Philippine governments.
Idjirani had said that the standoff continued and the group of Raja Muda had moved to another location to continue their fight.
"If the standoff is over, that means Raja Muda and his companions have either been captured or have been killed," he said Friday.
But Idjirani confirmed on Saturday that no shootout between the royal army and Malaysian forces had occurred since 8 p.m. Friday.
"Since 8 p.m. last night, wala pa ho. And as of 5:30 this morning, wala po."

Aquino urges unconditional surrender, Sulu rebels refuse demand

KUALA LUMPUR, March 2 – Philippines’ President Benigno Aquino III appealed today to a Sulu rebel group in Sabah to lay down their arms unconditionally, but the followers of the self-proclaimed sultan have refused, saying they would rather die than give up their claim to the Borneo state.
“The just, and indeed, the only correct thing for you to do is to surrender,” Aquino (picture) said in a statement, telling the group that it had chosen the wrong path, news portal The Philippine Daily Inquirer reported this afternoon.
But the self-proclaimed sultan of Sulu, Jamalul Kiram III said there was no reason for his followers to surrender in Sabah, which he claimed was their “own home” despite the land being a state in Malaysia for decades.
“All they know how to say is surrender, surrender. Why should we surrender in our own home? They (his followers now in Sabah) are not doing anything bad in their own home),” Jamalul reportedly said in an immediate response to Aquino’s call.

Manila mulls taking Sabah claim to World Court

Manila says it may take a Sulu rebel group’s ownership claim on Sabah to be adjudicated at the World Court. – Reuters picKUALA LUMPUR, Mar 2 – The Philippine government may take a Sulu rebel group’s ownership claim on Sabah to be adjudicated at world court even though the Borneo state in now part of Malaysia, Philippine media reported.
Leila de Lima, secretary in the Philippines’ Department of Justice (DOJ) was reported saying in Manila yesterday that the government had not ruled out taking the territorial dispute to the International Court of Justice in the Hague, but was studying carefully the case as it did not want to strain its friendship with Malaysia.
“That is among the options we are looking into. Of course there are international fora available so we’re considering that,” she was quoted as saying by the Philippine Star news portal.
She reportedly said “careful study” was needed and that the Philippine government’s considerations were not only limited to the legal issues of the claim.
“We have to consider standing policies of the administration, including foreign policies,” De Lima said, referring to her home country’s diplomatic ties with Malaysia.

Biar 2 minggu Lahad Datu diceroboh bukti Najib tak serius

Mantan Jeneral Gesa Semak Semula Kawalan Sempadan

SHAH ALAM, 2 MAC: Mantan Leftenan Jeneral (B) Datuk Abdul Ghafir Abdul Hamid menggesa kerajaan menyemak semula peralatan dan modus operandi pasukan keselamatan agar lebih efektif dalam mengawal persempadanan negara supaya tidak mudah lagi diceroboh.
Meskipun pantai Sabah panjang, beliau percaya kecekapan anggota keselamatan mampu mengawal perairan dengan baik.
“Kita kena tahu pantai dikawasan Sabah memang panjang.

“Mesir dikongkong Firaun ribuan tahun.

BN prime ministers will suck the people dry

BN prime ministers will suck the people dryWHY do you think the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) became super efficient after Mahathir Mohamad stepped down as prime minister in October 2003?
Because the national treasury was empty and income tax was a main source of income to keep the government afloat. It was then incoming prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi who confided in me that Mahathir had left him with an empty federal treasury.
Of course there was also Petronas and plenty of borrowings to keep Abdullah’s administration going.
Unfortunately for Malaysians, the man who was once regarded by the rakyat as “Mr Clean”, extended Mahathir’s excessiveness in milking the country’s wealth dry.
Abdullah relied heavily on internal and external borrowings to finance mega projects but did nothing to reduce the ballooning federal debts until his downfall in 2009 following the March 2008 political tsunami.
Abdullah’s successor, Najib Abdul Razak, not only extended the government’s borrowings, he and his wife Rosmah went on a spending spree, resulting in accumulating more than RM520 billion in federal debts.
NRD used to do 'national service' for BN
Umno prime ministers, like Abdullah and Najib, are all the same.
They have no intention whatsoever to help the rakyat or country. They just use their power to enrich themselves and their cronies with billion-ringgit projects and monopolies.
Since the national treasury was empty, the NRD was then beefed up to do national service for Barisan Nasional (BN).
In 2010, Najib’s NRD collected RM85 billion in taxes followed with another RM125 billion in 2011.
BN prime ministers will always continue to squeeze the rakyat until their “blood runs dry”.
It is estimated that if BN is not stopped from their wayward ways, the federal debt will hit RM1 trillion by 2020.

Sokongan warga Felda berubah, PR mampu menang 15 – 30 “kerusi Felda”
