Prince vs Prince – what will the Royal Malaysian Police do now?

By Reina
The Police are royally screwed now.
POLICE credibility is probably at its lowest. Today The Nut Graph in its Trusting the Police article shows instances when the actions and intentions of the police force have been questioned.
The police probably had good reasons for the actions they had taken but since scant explanation has been given, there is a tendency for the public to believe in rumours and hearsay.
The same goes for some claims that people have been detained by the police and only released when a certain amount is paid. Some say police demand RM3,000, some say the amount can be as high as RM30,000. Just how far these claims are true, no one knows for sure.
And then there are stories about how police treat those in police custody – the number of custodial deaths somehow make it difficult for the public to believe that these deaths are all the result of natural causes or suicides.
Then there are stories about how the police refuse to take action despite numerous police reports for some reason or other.
Again, the credibility issue is at play here – in an environment shrouded with secrecy, the tendency to trust unverified sources is great.
You do not get to read many of these stories or claims in the mainstream media because for the longest time the standing instruction from the Prime Minister’s Department is that police brutality, corruption and inaction not be reported at all or in cases where these kinds of stories have to be reported then they should not be highlighted.
But stories do emerge and these stories find their way to the online media – with evidence and statements from various sources. This has eroded public confidence on the police force so badly.
The recent accusation by the Negeri Sembilan royal house is bound to make things worse.
The Negeri Sembilan royal house is claiming that one of their members was abused and threatened with a gun by a member of  the Johor royal house – and that the police are not doing anything about it.
One would wonder how the police would conduct their interrogations on the Johor royal being accused. But then, it would be unbecoming for the police to sit by and do nothing since the Negeri Sembilan royal family has gone public with the case with photographic evidence.
This is a very tricky situation for the police and it would be interesting to see how they worm their way out of this.
Maybe Fox Communication, which is paid a retainer fee of about RM34,000 a month by the PDRM to be the Royal Malaysian Police Force’s media / image / publicity consultant, should really start earning their money.
One thing is for sure, the MSM reporters (who are actually undercover media managers for the police force) will be asked to do a lot of image cleaning via the mainstream media.

WAKE UP!!! Ours soldiers..

WAKE UP!!! Ours soldiers..
by Anak Sungai Derhaka

The change over of leadership of the Armed Forces recently had come as a surprise to most and to some, it was expected. I have to wait a while to understand why this sudden an 'abnormal' departure of the former Chief of Defence Force (CDF) Tan Sri Gen Abd Aziz Zainal who apparently left without the grandeur of the military parades, dinning out, farewell visits to formations as well as a call upon his foreign counterparts, especially those from within ASEAN.

I did seek an explanation from some serving officers and those retirees regarding the sudden departure of Gen Aziz Zainal, but many agreed that for whatever the reason, it was improper for the government to have allowed Gen Aziz Zainal to leave in such a haste. Never has there been an occasion where a CDF had left the military service in a manner that Gen Aziz Zainal did. The least would have been for the Armed Forces to honour him in a farewell parade that all outgoing CDF truly deserve.

I do not wish to speculate nor do I wish to say anything that will embarrass Gen Aziz Zainal. But I sense that there is something seriously wrong, and this will only allow serving officers and especially those retired senior military officers to come in defence of their kind, and to perceive that the government has not given due recognition, respect and honour to a retiring CDF. Certainly, I am one of those who have a similar perception.

I am told that Gen Aziz Zainal was to have retired in August 2007 at the age of 56 then, but upon his appointment as the CDF in February 2007, he was offered to serve for one year considered from his effective date of appointment as the CDF, that would expire end of January 2008. He was once again offered another year of service that expires end of January 2009, just short of approximately 6 months to his 58th birth date, that is now the new compulsory retiring age of all senior military officers. On completing his second extension at the end of January 2009, he was again offered to serve until his handing over on September 1, 2009. I am told too that he is now on 5 months resettlement leave until 31 January 2010. In all, Gen Aziz Zainal had served as the CDF for approximately 2 years and 6 months.

I am baffled as how the government, in particular the Ministry of Defence could announced Gen Aziz Zainal's handing over to the newly named CDF just within days after the Armed Forces Council sitting. My experience tells me that the Armed Forces Council decision on the appointment of the new CDF will require the prior sanction of His Majesty the King before an official announcement can be made, and this usually takes a bit of time.

Whatever the circumstances that led to a decision regarding the appointment of the new CDF, I deemed that the departure of Gen Aziz Zainal as abrupt and does not conform to the military norms that have been accorded to all previous CDFs. One must understand the status and standing of the CDF in the Armed Forces and our society, and it only leaves a bad taste to know the manner in which Gen Aziz Zainal had departed from the military service.

Let there not be a similar occurrence like this, and having served as a staff in the Armed Forces Personnel Division, it would not be wrong for me to say that the blame should be shouldered by that Division as well as the Ministry's Chief Secretary, who is also the Secretary to the Armed Forces Council.

Malaysian Election and Army votes

by drrafick

1. I am sure everyone who is concern about fair election is doing some kind of research related to Army postal votes since PR raised their concerns with regards to the upcoming by-election in Bagan Pinang. PR are making some noises because of their concern on the impact of the soldiers votes which based on the March 8th 2009 election and being a former serviceman, their concern is not without merit. Allow me to share my experience of going through 3 elections while I was serving in the Army.

2. Soldier’s votes are very important to the ruling government as we all know that their numbers are significant when they are located in high concentration areas. I am not sure how many remembered that Najib won narrowly in Pekan during the General Election that took place after Anwar was sacked from UMNO. In that year, Najib by countable number of postal votes that came from the Army and Air Force base in Batu 9 and Batu 10 Kuantan.

3. During the same GE, Dato Anuar Musa (now Tan Sri) then lost the Ketereh seat because the airman at the Gong Kedak, which is located at the border of Kelantan and Terengganu, chose to abstain from voting. The camp is unique where it is located right at the border of Kelantan and Terengganu. They live in Terengganu and they go to work by crossing the road which brings them into Kelantan. They votes goes into Anuar Musa area in Kelantan. I remember when his wife complains to me that the soldiers were ungrateful for not voting BN.

4. In Bagan Pinang, the impact is significant as the Basic Army Training center is located there. At one time there are easily few thousand recruits and soldiers in the Camp. I am not quite sure up to where the extents of the electoral boundaries are but there are many other Army training centers along the famous PD beach road. Certainly they are concern on the impact. Unfortunately their concern appears to be targeted at different matters.

5. PR is concern that the election will be rigged. They are concern about multiple votes from one person and they are also concern of being accessible to the voters during campaigning. This would be their greatest mistake. I would say they should not be concern about the election being rigged or they are not able to campaign but they should be concern with soldiers being ordered to vote BN as well as specific people will be crossing the voting papers on behalf of the recruit and soldiers.

6. During the GE when Anwar was sacked, my voting rights were denied as the voting paper was not in TUDM Subang but was in Mindef. When I went to the voting center, I was told by the adjutant that my name is not in the list under Subang but was located in Mindef. I was given a number to call.

7. I remember calling them vigorously from morning and finally getting through at about 400pm. The Corporal that answered my call confirms that my voting papers were in Mindef and he said it would be difficult for me to go to Mindef and would probably not make it on time. He told me he can help me to cross the papers. I only need to tell him whom to vote. I told him not to do anything but my gut feeling is that someone had vote BN on my behalf.

8. In Bagan Pinang, PR biggest concern should not be about campaigning among the soldiers. They should be concern about how soldiers and recruits would be forewarned and will be ordered to vote certain individuals or certain symbols. Being recruits whose young brain and mind has been thrashed, they will follow orders. They would prefer to follow orders just to get a weekend pass or to avoid being forced to march with 40kg packs on their back.

9. I am not sure how PR wants to ensure that the recruits and soldier can vote without fear or favor. They will go and cast their papers under MAFREL and agents nose but they will never be able to ensure that the soldiers are casting their votes on their own free will. If they expect any of the soldiers or recruits to change their mind based on campaign promises, I can say for sure that they are expecting a big surprise. The only way they can win is they know exactly how many soldiers are there in the camp and they need to find matching numbers among the civilians population to neutralize this numbers and then work triple hard to get the rest of the voters to vote for them. Other than that they need some serious divine intervention.

Suhakam: Can't sing Negara-ku, so no freedom for you

Suhakam (Human Rights Commission) wants the last remaining nine Internal Security Act detainees in the country, released as soon as possible as "there are no rational grounds to continue holding them indefinitely without trial".

This will be the recommendation that Suhakam vice-chairperson Simon Sipaun and commissioner N Siva Subramaniam will be making to the federal government soon in a report.

Besides the ISA Detainees Review Board, Suhakam can also make recommendations to the government on behalf of ISA detainees and visit them periodically.

"Three of them - a Bangladeshi, a Pakistani and a Thai - should have been brought to trial in an open court or deported straight away," said Sipaun after a visit yesterday to the Kamunting Detention Centre for ISA detainees and the Taiping Prison.

"But this was not done for some reason and they have been incarcerated for nearly two years."

simon sipaunSipaun said that they should have been charged in an open court based on their alleged crime which was falsification of documents.

Sipaun does not rule out the possibility that there might not be sufficient evidence to charge the three foreigners in an open court.

In that case, they should not have been held at all but simply deported, he added.

"Why hold them for no rhyme or reason? What public or national interest is served by continuing to hold them? As a deterrent to others? That's not the way to go about it."

'Too lazy to prosecute'

Again, Sipaun does not rule out another possibility - that "the authorities in fact might be too lazy to bring them to court".

This happened in a similar case in Sabah several years ago when seven people - including employees of the National Registration Department and Umno - were held under the ISA, he added, for being involved in the fraudulent issuance of the MyKad and other Malaysian personal documents to illegal immigrants.

"They were not charged either, although all the evidence was reportedly there, and instead they were simply locked up under the ISA and released after two years. One Filipino ISA detainee, an illegal immigrant, was deported.

hindraf kamunting prayer 161207 entranceHe's now back in Sabah and came to see us to complain that the authorities are withholding his MyKad and that of his family members."

The Filipino was told by the NRD, according to the complaint lodged with Suhakam, that the department "cannot release his and family members' MyKad as he has been held under the ISA".

The episode has been duly recorded in the 2008 Suhakam annual report.

In the case of the Pakistani, Sipaun finds it odd that he has been charged with falsification of documents.

He was given to understand the man is illiterate. The question that arises is how an illiterate man was able to falsify documents despite this obvious handicap.

'Mas Selamat prefers Malaysia'

Two other foreigners who got the visiting Suhakam team's attention were a Sri Lankan and Mas Selamat Kastari, a Singaporean member of the Jemaah Islamiah (JI).

He escaped from detention in the republic and was nabbed in Johor on April 1 after being on the run for two months from the authorities in both countries.

The interview notes on the Sri Lankan were with Suhakam officials who accompanied the two commissioners and Sipaun could not elaborate on the matter.

mas selamat alleged ji terrorist captured by malaysia authorities 080509 04"Mas Selamat (left) is an interesting case and I spent 30 minutes of our two-hour visit with him," said Sipaun.

"He does not deny that he's a member of Jemaah Islamiah."

Mas Selamat has been accused by Singaporean authorities of planning to bomb the Changi International Airport and carry out other attacks in the republic.

He did not mention these allegations to Sipaun. However, he has plenty of complaints about his detention in Singapore.

He prefers to remain in Malaysia which apparently refuses to hand him over to the authorities there.

Presumably in retaliation, the Singapore authorities refuse to allow his family members to visit him.

They have also confiscated their travel documents and they are also reportedly being watched around the clock.

"Although Mas Selamat did not mention the various allegations made against him by the Singapore authorities, he did say that he must fight for democracy and freedom, in accordance to his beliefs.

He claimed he was drugged in S'pore

"Both these conditions are absent in Singapore, according to Mas Selamat," said Sipaun.

Mas Selamat complained to Sipaun during his interview that he never felt normal during his entire detention in Singapore.

He suspects that the authorities there must have been administering drugs to him through his food ever since he was detained.

Mas Selamat said he did not know why the Singapore authorities kept "drugging" him, if that was what they did.

He suspects that it might have been to make him talk or to tell them what they believe to be the truth.

mas selamat alleged ji terrorist captured by malaysia authorities 080509 05In any case, he always felt dizzy, and tried to eat as little of the food as possible and escaped at the very first opportunity that he got in February.

According to media reports, he climbed out through a toilet window in his high security prison and swam across the Johor Straits to Malaysia.

Mas Selamat did not go into the details of his escape but Sipaun is sure that the Malaysian authorities know all about this by now and other things as well.

Sipaun does not know what will become of Mas Selamat in time to come.

The remaining four detainees held under the ISA, all Malaysians, have also been accused of being members of JI.

They include three detainees who were held just a month ago.

Mentally challenged among those detained

Two of these detainees have two wives each.

One of these men has 17 children and both his wives are not working, forcing the families to depend on the generousity of neighbours, friends and strangers for their daily survival.

The first of the four Malaysian detainees has been under ISA detention for the last seven years.

He has lost all contact with his family. No one comes to visit him.

Sipaun could not interview him during his visit since he ran into a toilet and locked himself in and refused to come out.

"From what we can gather, he seems to be under a lot of stress," said Sipaun.

"I suspect that he must be a mental case by now. I wonder why he's being left alone just like that.

His medical condition should be evaluated and proper treatment given.

"It's bad enough that his family doesn't visit him. On top of that, he has been in detention for seven years."

A strange discovery

On why this particular detainee has been in detention so long, Sipaun made a strange discovery.

Apparently, he refuses to sing the national anthem and so the ISA Detainees Review Board has declined to recommend him for release.

"How can a man who is not in his right mind sing anything?" asks Sipaun.

"Even if he can sing and refuses, that should not be held against him to deprive him of his right to freedom and personal liberty."

Sipaun also wonders how many Malaysians can really sing the national anthem in full or even partly.

All nine ISA detainees are being held in six huge dormitories.

Two of the Malaysian detainees are being held in the first dormitory, the second dormitory holds Mas Selamat and another Malaysian detainee, the last dormitory holds the Malaysian detainee who has been held seven years, the third dormitory holds the Pakistani and Thai, the fourth dormitory the Bangladeshi and the fifth dormitory the Sri Lankan.

The Kamunting Detention Centre also holds about 300 prisoners.

The Suhakam team didn't visit them, having already visited the Taiping Prison earlier in the day.

The Taiping Prison, which will get a thumbs-up in the Suhakam report, has space for 700 prisoners but currently holds a little over 600.

Kit Siang slams A-G for inaction in PKFZ scandal

PETALING JAYA, Sept 19 — Lim Kit Siang has slammed the Attorney-General for not prosecuting two former ministers in the scandal-hit Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project as the government scrambled to contain damage from a leaked Cabinet paper which inferred they knew of the cost overruns.
The DAP leader also criticised the government move to take action over the leaked Cabinet paper which appeared in fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin's Malaysia-Today website while ignoring transparency concerns over the project that could potentially cost RM12.5 billion to taxpayers.
"Why didn’t Attorney-General Gani Patail prosecute previous Transport Ministers Ling Liong Sik and Chan Kong Choy for unlawfully issuing four Letters of Support, landing the taxpayers with the RM12.5 billion PKFZ scandal?" the veteran opposition leader asked in a statement today.
The Ipoh Timur MP noted that at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing last Aug 12, Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail had made clear his position that the four "Letters of Support" issued by previous Transport Ministers Tun Dr Ling Liong Sik and Tan Sri Chan Kong Choy from 2003 to 2006 for the RM4 billion bonds by the PKFZ turnkey contractor Kuala Dimensi Sdn. Bhd (KDSB) were in fact Letters of Guarantee and had been unlawfully issued.
"This is the question which the Attorney-General and the government leadership should be answering instead of running after Raja Petra and Malaysia-Today under the Official Secrets Act for their role as whistleblowers," he said.
Lim pointed out that top government leaders have instead denounced the leaked 18-page document and had called for action under the Official Secrets Act against Raja Petra, who is popularly known as RPK.
"However, none of them has shown any concern about the right to know of Malaysians about the hows and whys the taxpayers are being burdened with the ‘mother of all scandals’ — the RM12.5 billion PKFZ scandal running through three prime ministers, three finance ministers and four Port Klang Authority chairmen," he said.
The DAP leader said the prime minister had only commented that the government will inform the people about the case but it was not an excuse to reveal Cabinet papers.
"The question Najib has failed to answer is why the Cabinet papers on the RM12.5 billion PKFZ scandal should continue to be kept as secret documents instead of being declassified, unless the Barisan Nasional has skeletons in the cupboard which must be kept hidden from public knowledge and scrutiny," Lim said.
He also said as a former member of the Cabinet, PAC chairman Datuk Azmi Khalid would have access to the Cabinet documents on the PKFZ scandal and should also summon Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Sidek Hassan to help the PAC inquiry into the PKFZ case and testify as to the information given to the ministers and the decisions taken by the Cabinet.
"Shouldn’t the PAC take a stand that all the Cabinet documents and papers relating to the PKFZ scandal should be declassified not only for full study by the PAC but also by all MPs and the Malaysian public — unless there are skeletons which must be kept hidden?" he asked.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat has formed a task force to probe the issue while the principal companies in the scandal, the Port Klang Authority (PKA) has sued KDSB for RM720 million this past week.
KDSB chairman Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing and Ong have also lodged reports and filed suits against each other after Tiong claimed he donated RM10 million to the MCA president.
Najib has now formed a super task force under Sidek to investigate the PKFZ scandal.
The PKFZ, which was initially projected to cost less than RM2 billion, may now end up costing as much as RM12 billion by some estimates and had to be rescued with a RM4.6 billion government loan in 2007.

F1 racing: As simple as A-B-C? — Tay Tian Yan

SEPT 19 — On the 1 Malaysia F1 Team, other than the question "where's the money coming from?", we have a cultural issue to address.
How does a country not known for its racing culture like Malaysia take part in the world's most prominent racing event?
This is like getting a Bedouin born and raised in the desert to win a swimming gold in the Olympics!
The Bedouins can imagine the desert to be an ocean, flapping their limbs in the desert and learning the tactics of Michael Phelps.
They can even construct several mammoth pools in the middle of the desert, and get even camels to learn to swim!
They can also handpick a few elite kids to be sent to swimming academies in the US for a 10-year programme, training 12 hours a day.
They will eventually learn how to swim, but not become world-class swimmers.
Because in the Bedouin culture, there isn't anything like a cultural gene for swimming!
Culture is by no means instant noodles. Throw the noodles into hot water; take them out in two minutes and they are ready to be served.
Culture needs 200 years, even 2,000 years to inculcate, take shape, and excel.
F1 is not street racing; and Schumacher is no Mat Rempit.
The F1 culture is founded on the time-honoured automobile industry of a country. The world's greatest racing teams are either from Germany, Italy or Britain.
Only these three countries have truly matured and sophisticated auto industries as well as a deep-rooted automobile culture.
The racing game involves massive input of know-how and technology, along with decades of research, legacy and a considerable pool of talents.
Racing aces, from the drivers to the technicians, have all been painstakingly groomed over the years, some even inherited from their fathers.
For instance, there are many racing academies in Britain and Germany where students pick up the skills of racing and automobile know-how since young, including dynamics, mechanics and electronics, among many other things.
The students join the racing teams only after completing the entire training programme.
They begin with go-karts, and having passed and excelled in all sorts of tests, they will then proceed to Formula Renault, Formula BMW, F3 and F3000.
Only the crčme de la crčme will eventually land on the F1 track!
Of course, the racing infrastructure, a sizeable number of racing enthusiasts and incessant funds are all integral parts of success.
Only with all the software and infrastructure firmly in place will we be able to meet the most fundamental prerequisites to establish our own racing culture.
Even big car-making countries like Japan and the US are only good enough to learn on the fringes of F1. Their teams, like Honda and Toyota of Japan and the erstwhile Ford of US, would all have to set up their bases in Britain in order to make waves in F1 races.
Overzealous Malaysia plans to put everything — from the manufacture of the race car, racing team to drivers — under one roof at its F1 hub in Sepang!
To them, F1 racing is like peanuts! —

Undi pos nafi hak demokratik tentera

"Kita bukan hendak mengajak tentera berparti politik.

Siap sedia awal hadapi Bagan Pinang

"Ia dipilih selepas tiga, empat hari selepas sambutan Aidilfitri.

SIS files to stay Kartika’s caning

PETALING JAYA, Sept 19 — Muslim women’s rights group Sisters in Islam (SIS) has asked the Syariah court in Kuantan to delay Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno’s caning sentence for drinking beer until all legal avenues are exhausted.
SIS filed for the revision yesterday, saying it was acting in the public interest so as to resolve the controversies and to provide clarity for what would be the first-ever caning of a woman for any offence in Malaysia.
"SIS filed for a revision at the Syariah High Court in Kuantan on Friday morning asking for a stay of execution of Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno’s sentence of whipping," its executive director Dr Hamidah Marican said in a statement.
"SIS urges the authorities to refrain from executing the sentence on Kartika until all legal and other avenues have been exhausted," she added.
Mother-of-two Kartika (picture) was due to be caned six times in the first week of the Ramadan fasting month in late August but it was called off at the last minute after a public and international outcry apart from the Prisons Department's inability to carry out Islamic-style caning. Malaysia's civil laws also prevent women from being punished with caning but the Syariah court insists that the sentence be carried out.
The former nurse turned model was fined RM5,000 and six strokes after she was caught drinking beer in Cherating, Pahang with her Singaporean husband, who as a foreigner was not charged. Only Pahang, Perlis and Kelantan prescribe caning for the alcohol-drinking offence.
Both Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Women and Family Affairs Minister Senator Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil have asked Kartika to appeal against the sentence but she has refused, and turned around asking for public caning.
The government has asked the Syariah court to examine the case but the Pahang religious authorities have now pushed the caning to after the Hari Raya Aidil Fitri celebrations next week.
SIS said it understands from some newspaper reports that the Chief Syarie Judge of Pahang has also filed for a revision of Kartika’s sentence.
"But we have not been able to verify this officially. Should this process be in place, we are surprised by the statement issued by the Pahang Religious Department today of its intent to execute the sentence on Kartika, and to do so without any prior notice," Hamidah said.
"Since Kartika’s case has generated much public concern, nationally and internationally, the insistence on executing the sentence when legal avenues for revision and clarification have not been exhausted shows an utter disregard of a matter of great public and international interest," she added.
SIS's action also came after the Syariah court in Selangor on Wednesday sentenced a couple to six strokes of the cane after they pleaded guilty to trying to have sex out of wedlock in their car.
Syariah prosecutor Shafezan Rusli said religious police caught Mohamad Shahrin Abdul Majid, 29, and Nadiah Najat Hussin, 24, with only their undergarments on in a car at an office parking lot last May.
He said the couple are appealing the caning as they plan to get married soon, though they have paid the court-ordered fine of RM5,000 each.
Earlier this week, the Syariah court judge who had sentenced Kartika also ordered an Indonesian Muslim man to be caned six times and jailed a year for drinking liquor at a restaurant.
It is not known if the Indonesian was a visitor or a permanent resident to enable him to be subject to Malaysian Syariah laws.

Penyerahan dokumen menjadi wajib dibawah prosedur Kanun Keseksaan. Tetapi pihak DPP hanya menghantar sebahagian dokumen saja.

Akhirnya ulasan Profesor Salleh Buang, seorang pakar perundangan dibuat sembarangan tanpa hati-hati meneliti fakta.

Ismail.

(counsel for the Selangor state government, applied for copies of the X-rays taken of Teoh by pathologist Dr Khairul Ibrahim and the logs for the biometric cards used at the main entrance of the MACC offices.)

Saksi Terdengar Tan Boon Wah Memarahi Teoh Dalam Tandas

Prosiding inkues bersambung 29 Sept.

No injuries on Teoh's body when his statement was recorded

SHAH ALAM (Sept 17, 2009) : No injuries were visible on the body of political secretary Teoh Beng Hock when his statement was recorded, the inquest into his death was told today.

Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) officer Mohd Nadzri Ibrahim, the inquest's 21st witness, said he did not ask Teoh if he had been beaten or was hurt as he did not see any injuries on Teoh's body when he took the statement from 1.30am to 3.30am on July 16.

He said that while Teoh seemed "restless", his demeanor grew calmer as Teoh got tired during the two-hour long recording of his statement.

"Near the end of the recording, Teoh was cooperative. He did not look restless, he looked tired," Nadzri said during questioning by Tan Hock Chuan, the lawyer appointed by the government to assist in the inquest.

He said there was a break when Teoh used the toilet at 2.30am.

Asked whether anyone else had gone into the room when Teoh's statement was being recorded, he said MACC investigating officer Mohd Anuar Ismail was there between 2am and 2.30am to check on the recording.

"He came in at about 2 to 2.30. He was in my room for a few minutes, to ask about the condition of the witness and myself. I told Anuar everything was 'OK'."

Asked what he did next, Nadzri said he went to Anuar for instructions, who told him to release Teoh to go home to retrieve certain documents which were relevant to the investigation.

"I informed Teoh he could go home but to come back later with other documents," he said, adding that Teoh had asked to rest for a while in the MACC offices on the 14th floor of Plaza Masalam here.

Earlier, MACC officer Bulkini Paharuddin told the Teoh Beng Hock inquest he heard someone shout "It's you" in Mandarin in the men's toilet of the Selangor MACC offices.

Mohd Nadzri Ibrahim
Bukini said he had accompanied a witness, municipal councillor Tan Boon Wah, to the restroom when he heard the shout.

He said he had earlier seen a man in white long pants and black jacket, who he identified as Teoh Beng Hock, go to the toilet.

"I am not fluent in it (Mandarin) but I understood it meant 'It's you'," Bulkini said during questioning by lawyer Tan Hock Chuan, appointed by the government to assist in the inquest.

Asked if he had heard anything else, he said he had not as he had gone back to finish his meal in the pantry.

Bulkini said Boon Wah had interrupted his meal to ask for directions to the toilet.

Asked how he could understand Mandarin, Bulkini, who repeated what he heard in Manadrin to the court, said he received his primary education in a Chinese school.

Bulkini, the inquest's 22nd witness, also said he did not recognise Teoh initially but only knew who he was after seeing photographs of him on TV.

Questioned by Gobind Singh Deo, the lawyer for the Teoh family, Bulkini said he not know how many people were in the toilet at the time and did not see "who was speaking to whom" as he did not go in.

Malik Imtiaz Sarwar, counsel for the Selangor state government, applied for copies of the X-rays taken of Teoh by pathologist Dr Khairul Ibrahim and the logs for the biometric cards used at the main entrance of the MACC offices.

"This will put to rest certain doubts that have arisen whether people were there or not, from midnight to 8am on July 16," he said.

The inquest resumes on Sept 29.

PRK Bagan Pinang; SPR Tidak telus, ruang hanya kepada parti pemerintah. Sukar Tembusi Kem Askar Untuk Kempen

Usah mempertikaikan kaedah penggunaan undi pos!

Lalu menggelejatlah Najib...

Selepas Peguam Negara, Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail terloncat-loncat dek perbuatan "pakar dokumen palsu dan akuan berkanun (SD) tidak berguna," Raja Petra Kamaruddin, hari ini Perdana Menteri, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak pula menggelejat sakan bagaikan terpijak bara api (menggelejat - let say accidently you step on a very hot object, terlompat-lompat kan? Aa.. that is menggelejat).

Saya nak menjangkakan jawapan kerajaan Najib:

Why UMNO can’t choose Isa Samad for Bagan Pinang.

It's not healthy for UMNO's long term interests.

UMNO will announce its candidate for Bagan Pinang after Hari Raya. UMNO appears to be more circumspect this time around in choosing its candidate. The debacle in the choice of its candidate in the Permatang Pasir election is causing red-faced embarrassment. An immediate effect is a lessening of noises and big talk from UMNO leaders.
I have written 3 articles about the coming Bagan Pinang by elections. In the first 2 articles, I have differentiated between UMNO's short term and immediate interests with its longer term agenda. In these two articles, I mentioned that if UMNO's single obsession is winning, then Isa Samad may be the chosen candidate.
In a 3rd article, I said perhaps I have used the first 2 articles to test the waters. The genial impression is the general public presses for new values that UMNO must adjust itself to. The mood which underlined voter's preferences during the 12th GE hasn't subsided and indeed it seems to have fortified into a hardened resolve. The public has punished UMNO for the endemic corruption that has permeated the corridors of power, rejected the abuse of power and looked with disdain at UMNO's overall arrogance, exemplified by the behavior of its leadership across all levels. Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, the much respected UMNO leader has also given his thoughts on this matter.

In my 3rd article I wrote in the interest of its long term interests UMNO must adopt elements of the new nationalism- intense love for this country that results in an equally passionate rejection of things like corruption, bad governance, arrogance, abuse of power and advocacy for the rule of law, justice integrity, credibility and all that. It's imperative for UMNO to unreservedly adopt these elements of the new nationalism to ensure its relevance with the changing environment.
Because the long term interests are what UMNO looks out for, it must reflect this belief in a basic mater like in choosing the candidate for Bagan Pinang. It's true that UMNO stands a very good chance of winning if Isa Samad is chose. We have already said what his strengths were. But the one taint that comes along is not compatible with UMNO's resolve to adopt new values. Integrity and credibility being two of them, would therefore exclude Isa Samad from contention.
In my 3rd article therefore I have stated the possibility that Isa may have to give way to his son to stand as candidate. The son will still benefit from the clout and influence Isa has. He will get the father's support as well as support from his father's followers. His candidacy will also minimize potential sabotage from UMNO people.
He has to prepare himself from charges of being chosen on account of his father. He will have to confront the issue of dynastic style politics- from grandfather to father to son. But as our past experience in this aspect has shown- being the offspring of a previous leader hasn't disqualified many from being chosen and risen through the ranks. The PM, the Home Minister, the deputy trade minister, and many others are all sons of past leaders and that haven't barred them from coming on their own. The opposition party too is replete with examples of politicians being children of political leaders- Anwar Ibrahim, Karpal Singh, Lim Kit Siang all have children entering politics.
Because of these reasons, UMNO will find that it is in their best and long term interests to have a candidate other than Isa Samad but who is capable of leveraging on Isa's credentials. I have said who he might be in the 3rd article.

Malaysia Today blocked over leaked PKFZ documents?

By Syed Jaymal Zahii, The Malaysian Insider
Access to Malaysia Today, the website on which fugitive blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin had posted digital copies of leaked documents on the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ), including classified Cabinet papers, appears to have been blocked by the authorities.
These documents were available for public viewing the past three days but the website was inaccessible today.
The website had published what appears to be a request from the Finance Ministry for a retrospective increase in cost for the PKFZ project from about RM1 billion to nearly RM5 billion.
The DAP’s Lim Kit Siang suggested today that the government could be responsible for the blockade.
“Has it anything to do with the RM12.5 billion PKFZ documents, including Cabinet papers, on the website in the past three days?,” said Lim in a statement today.
Lim insinuated that the inaccessibility of Raja Petra’s website coincided with an English daily report today that investigations have been ordered against it.
This morning, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak also promised to punish those responsible for the leak under the Officials Secrets Act.
“Anyone who exposes Cabinet papers will be subjected to police investigations, and action under the OSA will depend on the investigations,” Najib told reporters today.
Attorney General Tan Sri Gani Pattail had also been reported as saying that those responsible for publications would be dealt with through the OSA.
Lim blasted the government’s response, saying that Najib must “honour his pledge of public accountability, transparency, integrity and good governance which must include a commitment to freedom of information.”
“To do this, it is essential that Najib declassify all relevant PKFZ government documents, including Cabinet papers, to public scrutiny as there can be no security justification to continue to protect such information as ‘official secrets’ under the OSA,” he said.
When contacted, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission was unable to confirm if it was responsible for blocking Malaysia Today.

Pelaburan RM1 Billion Setahun Untuk 1Malaysia F1, Sah Kini PM Najib Razak Dahulukan Dr.Mahathir Daripada Rakyat Yang Memerlukan !

RM1 Billion Itu Untuk Mahathir Dan Anaknya

Kerana Mahathir, Najib Gagal Dahulukan Rakyat

Isu Anwar mungkin menjadi pokok utama, menyebabkan Najib terpaksa mengikut telunjuk Mahathir.

Nyahkan Mahathir !!].
